Privacy Policy

BasePixel is an on-chain game operated by BasePixel Labs (“BasePixel Labs,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). This Privacy Policy describes the limited information we receive when you visit our websites at basepixel.io and app.basepixel.io (the “Sites”) or interact with the BasePixel smart contracts on the Base blockchain (the “Service”), and how we use it.

BasePixel is a non-custodial application. We do not hold your funds, we do not require you to create an account, and we do not ask for personal information such as your name, email address, or government ID in order to play.

1. Information We Receive

Public blockchain data. When you connect a wallet and sign transactions, the Base blockchain records your wallet address and the actions you take (minting a pixel, attacking, committing a formation, redeeming, etc.). This data is public by design and is not controlled by us. We read it the same way any third party can.

Game state we index. To make the game playable, we run an indexer that reads public on-chain events and stores them in a database so the user interface can render the grid, leaderboard, battle history, and your owned pixels. The data stored is derived from public on-chain state.

Server and CDN logs. Like most websites, our hosting and content-delivery infrastructure automatically logs technical request metadata (IP address, user agent, request path, timestamps) for operational and security purposes such as rate-limiting, abuse detection, and incident response.

Wallet connection data. If you connect a wallet, the wallet provider (e.g. Coinbase Wallet, MetaMask, WalletConnect) may receive technical information needed to establish the connection. We do not control what wallet providers collect; please consult their privacy policies.

Things we do not collect. We do not ask for, store, or sell your name, email address, phone number, postal address, payment card details, or government identification. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

2. How We Use the Information

• To operate, maintain, and improve the Service.
• To render game state, leaderboards, and battle history.
• To detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
• To comply with applicable legal obligations.

We do not use the limited information we receive to build advertising profiles, and we do not sell it.

3. How Long We Keep It

Indexed on-chain data is retained for as long as it is useful to render the Service. Server logs are retained for a short operational window and then rotated out. Data that lives on the Base blockchain itself is permanent and outside our control.

4. Third-Party Services

The Service relies on third-party infrastructure providers for hosting, content delivery, database, blockchain RPC, and wallet connectivity. Those providers may process limited technical data as their own data controllers under their own privacy policies.

5. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use a minimal set of cookies and similar technologies that are strictly necessary to operate the Service (for example, to remember which wallet you last connected). We do not set third-party advertising cookies.

6. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws like the GDPR or CCPA, including the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of information that constitutes personal data about you. To exercise these rights, contact us at the address below. Please note that information recorded on the Base blockchain is immutable and cannot be deleted by us or by anyone else.

7. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the limited information we hold. No system is perfectly secure; you use the Service at your own risk.

8. International Transfers

Our infrastructure providers operate globally. By using the Service you understand that technical request data may be processed in countries other than the one you live in.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Effective” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent update. Material changes will be communicated on the Sites.
